Have you completed an assignment or task, only to find out that you didn’t do it correctly and needed to start all over again? Before starting any project in 2009, use mind maps to tackle the critical thinking that precedes the doing. One mapping technique I’ve been using recently is to ask probing questions to help me better clarify any issue I am facing.
For any task or problem, I ask the following questions:
- Who?
- What?
- Where?
- When?
- Why?
- How many?
- How often?
Here’s a problem solving map template that incorporates this questioning technique. Use it to clarify, define and address tasks and issues more effectively. You’ll need MindManager, so download your free trial here.
Another way to incorporate questioning into your mapping process is to create a MindManager map part. That way, when you are mapping, just add the map part to any topic that needs further exploring. The questions are automatically added into your map and your mind starts working immediately to fill in the answers.
What problems are you tackling in 2009 and how will mapping help you?
