In 1997, Jeff Kearns, Peng , PMP completed his first project using the Lean Six Sigma methodology. He hasn’t looked back since.
Over the course of his career, Jeff has used Lean Six Sigma to manage projects as varied as reconfiguring a buoy maintenance facility, to optimizing the cost of manufacturing compressed air purification systems, to fine tuning a company’s quarterly forecasting processes and reducing lead time to respond to customer request for quotes. With each new project, Jeff has found that Lean Six Sigma never fails to help him and his clients find solutions to problems and, more importantly, help fix them.
In our upcoming webinar, Jeff will share insights from his years of experience with Lean Six Sigma. This will include:
- The difference between Lean, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma (aka as LeanSigma)
- Why Lean Six Sigma yields rewards on virtually any project
- Case study examples from Jeff’s consulting work and career in industry
- How he uses MindManager as a tool to enable the Lean Six Sigma methodology
We’ll also hold a Q&A session with Jeff at the end of the webinar.
To help get you primed for the webinar, I wanted to give you a brief overview of what Lean Six Sigma is.
What is Lean Six Sigma?
In a nutshell, Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that relies on collaboration and team effort to systematically remove waste and reduce variation in production. This methodology combines lean manufacturing and Six Sigma with the goal of eliminating the following 8 kinds of waste:
- Defects
- Over-production
- Waiting
- Non-utilized talent
- Transportation
- Inventory
- Motion
- Extra-processing
Through this process, Lean Six Sigma’s goal is to improve overall efficiency, and provides a framework for organizational change.
This is a very brief and high-level overview of Lean Six Sigma. To learn more about the methodology, and its applications, I encourage you to register for Jeff’s upcoming webinar titled Lean Six Sigma: What it is and why you’ll want to use it on your next project.
