How did you hear about Mindjet?
I heard about Mindjet through a coach who gave us a talk about creativity in the year 1999. He showed me how to work the software. And since then I have not stopped using it. Currently I use it on both my Mac and my iPad.
What do you primarily use it for?
I use Mindjet for many of my professional activities. The main one is to summarize business information. One of my main businesses is ResumenInteligente.com–a subscription-based service which summarizes a business book in mind map format each week.
I also often use Mindjet to clarify my ideas for writing articles that are posted on my blog and in various business magazines in my country (Mexico). Previously, when I was teaching, I prepared my materials with Mindjet as well.
What is your favorite feature?
Mindjet has many features that I love. One of them is the ability to convert an mmap file in various formats with a few clicks. For example, to prepare a PowerPoint presentation or prepare a report in Word. This is especially useful for me when handling large amounts of information and I want to stay focused on the essentials without getting lost. Also, that the information blocks move with drag and drop is formidable. I always keep the big picture visible.
Is there anything the tool helps with that was unexpected?
Something that has surprised me greatly is when I combine Mindjet with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. My productivity is greatly elevated.
Tell us about the map below.
I used this map to organize my business structure online. I see clearly the various websites I own and how each has a structure and a well-defined approach. With a single impact of view, I see clearly how my business is organized, and whether or not I need to add something.

Rafael Bravo considers himself an active promoter of the development of the entrepreneurial mindset, and learning of visual thinking skills. Among his passions are creating strong partnerships, the use of the latest technology and above all, rich and clear communications. “I think images have the power to transform the world, because they can convey deeply valuable information to any human being regardless of culture, gender, language or education level,” he says.

It’s just like philosopher Michel de Montaigne said way back in the 1500s: “It is good to rub and polish our brain against that of others.” The Mindjet User Spotlight series aims to help that little endeavor along by bringing your stories and experiences with Mindjet to the forefront. If you’ve got one to share, don’t be shy! Give us a shout.
