Mindjet rolls out new version with customer-requested features
Yesterday we launched a major new release of Deal Navigator for users of the salesforce.com CRM system. By applying Mindjet visualization to the data in salesforce.com, Deal Navigator helps sales teams see the whole picture when it comes to working a deal. It helps sales reps and managers see the key decision makers and influencers in a prospect account and how each may impact the outcome of a sale. By automatically creating a visual org chart of the prospect account from Salesforce data, Deal Navigator lets sales teams immediately identify their champions and antagonists and analyze the best course of action for closing a deal.
Deal Navigator v2.0 incorporates customer requested features and functions. At the top of the list is the new multi-accounts display (see below). No matter the size of the prospect customer account, Deal Navigator now displays subsidiaries, divisions, departments and other companies that are a part of a parent account in salesforce.com. A consolidated view of an account is one of the fastest ways to see who matters most in each opportunity, regardless of the organizational structure.
Also new in Deal Navigator is the ability to easily share an annotated chart in presentations or with non-Salesforce users by exporting an image of the chart. With the Export to High Resolution image feature, sales teams can more effectively collaborate in account reviews and planning sessions by showing a view of the org chart for a prospect customer account. This is an especially handy tool if showing a chart using salesforce.com is not possible.

Mindjet Announces Major New Release and Strong Customer Demand for Deal Navigator
Deal Navigator 2.0 delivers break-through opportunity management capabilities, addressing critical unmet needs for enterprise sales teams at Taleo, Lithium, Pivotlink, and Sigmetrix
San Francisco, November 29, 2010 –Mindjet®, the leading provider of software and web-based applications for visually organizing and managing information and ideas, is announcing a groundswell of customer demand for Mindjet Deal Navigator™ and the availability of a major new release, Deal Navigator 2.0. Mindjet Deal Navigator is a visual account management application for Salesforce.com that gives sales teams the essential customer insights needed to drive deals by automatically displaying opportunity, account and contact data within a single, editable chart. Enterprises of all sizes are implementing Deal Navigator into their sales processes to help them better understand priorities and close deals faster.
Deal Navigator 2.0 introduces users to new opportunity management features that allow them to view, analyze and track all relevant influencers and decision-makers across multiple accounts, within one consolidated view. Deal Navigator can now aggregate and display contacts across multiple subsidiaries, divisions, and even multiple companies, in one interactive chart, giving users the fastest way to see all the key players for each opportunity, regardless of account structure.
Since its early 2010 debut, Deal Navigator has acquired an impressive list of avid customers, including: Salesforce.com, Taleo, Lithium Technologies, InsideView, Pivotlink, Sigmetrix, OpTier, Corticon and Red Prairie. Companies of all sizes, and across all vertical markets, have seen the value of Deal Navigator in helping to improve account management and, ultimately, close more deals.
“Understanding the account map is critical for us to close deals,” said Jay Bransfield, senior director of sales operations for Lithium Technologies. “We chose Deal Navigator because it has the ability to help our team to determine if they have built all the right account relationships on any given deal.”
“With today’s complex sales cycles, no single person decides on a purchase, but multiple individuals within an organization can influence which solution to buy,” said Denis Pombriant, principal, Beagle Research. “Understanding who those individuals are across an entire account/company – divisions, subsidiaries, departments – and their roles in an opportunity is critical to success. That is where Mindjet and Deal Navigator are essential to sales.”
Deal Navigator is a Force.com native application that lets sales professionals and their managers:
- Save time with real-time automatic creation of interactive account charts based on data stored in salesforce.com
- Share status information and collaborate across major account sales teams – charts are shared based on the underlying permissions within salesforce.com and adhere to all salesforce security provisions
- Easily update formal reporting relationships and illustrate informal relationships using simple drag-and-drop editing and annotation tools
- Identify potential roadblocks or describe necessary next steps by adding comments to the chart
- See the big picture by aggregating multiple accounts in a single chart*
- Include key influencers from other companies, such as consultants, by inserting new contacts directly from the Deal Navigator chart view*
- Highlight critical opportunity status information by visually displaying each contact’s role (i.e., decision-maker, influencer, economic buyer)
- See at a glance whether contacts in an account are champions, supporters or antagonists who require more attention, using visual symbols such as check marks and flag icons.
- Create new accounts directly from Deal Navigator*
- Easily share annotated org charts with others using high resolution image export*. All org chart images are stored within Salesforce for easy archiving and retrieval, making it easy to view prior versions of any chart that’s been exported.
*New in Deal Navigator v2

Now with v2.0, sales people and their managers can spend more time strategizing and planning how to win business and less on administration.”
